Hades refers to the same place as Sheol. Their identification is unequivocally established by a comparison of Ps. 16:10 with Acts 2:27: “Thou wilt not leave My soul in Sheol” (Ps. 16:10), is “Thou shalt not leave My soul in Hades” in Acts 2:27. But it is important to bear in mind that Sheol or Hades had two compartments, reserved respectively for the saved and the lost.
